HPS Staff CPR Training
For the 2024/2025 school year, HPS has been able to certify 43% of staff members in CPR/AED/1st Aid. This includes teachers, coaches, IAs, bus drivers, food service, office staff and Administration.
This would not have been possible without the partnership with Holland Department of Public Safety - Fire Services.

Why is oral health important?
- Globally, between 60-90% of school children experience cavities in their teeth.
- Research shows that the earlier children learn about good oral health, the better their long-term oral health will be.
- Poor oral health has been shown to impact factors such as performance at school, social skills, and self-esteem.
Here are some tips to help promote good oral care:
- Brush your teeth at least twice a day- Use fluoride toothpaste and brush once in the morning and once at night.
- Limit sugary snacks and drinks- Remember to eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Drink more water and milk.
- Visit your dentist twice a year to help keep your teeth and gums healthy.
- Floss regularly to help remove plaque between your teeth.
- Change your toothbrush every 3 months- If the bristles on your toothbrush are looking worn, they won’t remove as much plaque.
