Help our student musicians get to NYC!
The Holland High School Choir will perform in Carnegie Hall in New York City, as part of a mass chorus in April, 2025.
As you can imagine a trip like this is going to be very expensive. The cost for the trip is estimated to be $2,000 per participant. This will include
- Airline travel
- Lodging, meals
- A visit to a world class museum
- A post-performance celebration dinner
- Attending 1 or 2 Broadway shows
A number of our HHS Choir parents are working closely with me to support our efforts as this will require a great deal of planning and fundraising.
This has been a great year for the Holland High School Choir program. Our choirs presented four concerts and participated in the MSVMA District and State Choral Festival. Through our continued work in musicianship, reading of music, sight reading, and singing with a high degree of musical technical skills and expression, our overall rating at both festivals was EXCELLENT Division I in both performance and sight reading.
As we plan for the coming school year, I have some very exciting news to share. The Holland High School choir has been invited to sing in Carnegie Hall, in New York City, as part of a mass chorus next April, 2025.
Here is a portion of the invitation letter from Dr. Sandra Snow:
On April 2, 2025, I will be conducting a festival choir performance of a selection of world renowned choral pieces. The choir will be accompanied by the professional New England Symphonic Ensemble. The festival choir will consist primarily of ensembles that I invite based on my knowledge of their excellent musicianship and work ethic. The reputation of your teaching and your school choirs’ history of choral performance is exceptional, and I would be very pleased to have your singers be part of the core of this festival choir.
This is a great honor and recognition of our program and the overall direction and vision of which we aspire in the performing arts. I have been working with the district to identify the steps required for such a performance and travel of this scale. In July, 2024, the Board of Education reviewed and approved our ability to attend.

This is truly a once in a lifetime experience for our students and I am writing today to encourage you to consider sponsorship of the Holland High School Choir. We accept cash donations or checks payable to HHS Choirs and will make you a tax deductible receipt for your donation. If you have any questions or would like more information on how you can support this experience, please email Choir Director Sarah Malone.
