Jingle All The Way to Good Attendance
Hello Families,
For the month of December, the attendance board will feature one of Santa's reindeer for each grade level: Dasher (K), Dancer (1st), Prancer (2nd), Vixen (3rd), Comet. (4th), Cupid (5th), and Blitzen (TK). The attendance board will be set up like a board game, where each grade can earn points based on their weekly attendance and improvements. For each point earned, your students grade will move one space forward. For every 3 spaces (or 3 points earned) on the board, there will be a prize. Each grade level will have a chance to earn 5 prizes. These prizes Include bookmarks, candy canes, a guest reading a Christmas-themed book to the class, a Christmas-themed PJ spirit day, and decorating Christmas cookies! Lets see how many prizes each grade level can get!
Did you know poor attendance can influence whether your child can read proficiently by the end of third grace or be held back?
Happy Jingling!
3rd Grade Reading Buddies
3rd grade Mrs. Kooyer's and Kindergarten Mrs. Dekker's Reading Buddies got together and created cornucopias with some fun yummy treats. We learned about the origin of the cornucopia and enjoyed eating them while sharing with our Reading Buddy things we were thankful for. Of course, we are thankful for our Reading Buddies!
