Principals Corner
Dear West Families,
Happy March! It is really starting to feel like spring with warmer temperatures on the horizon. MARCH IS READING MONTH. Thank you to all those families that came to the Reading Month Kick-Off Night on February 27. We had around 150 West students and parents in attendance. Please support and encourage your student to participate in the Gentex sponsored Read A Thon by having them read every night for four weeks. We are currently finishing up the 2nd week. Those students who do read every night will get weekly prizes.
Student Achievements: Let's celebrate our students' successes! We will be having a schoolwide PBIS celebration in the coming weeks. Students will enjoy an extra recess and a bag of chips for their hard work following the building POWER expectations.
Spring Break: School will be closed from April 4 - April 11. Enjoy the break and return refreshed!
Upcoming Events:
County Wide Tornado Drill - March 20 at 1:00 p.m.
Safety Reminder: Please do not park on the curb and get out of your vehicle during student drop-off and pick-up.
As always, please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for your continued partnership in fostering a positive and enriching learning environment for our students.
Wishing you a wonderful March filled with learning, growth, and joy!
Yours in Education,
Chad Tolson

PBIS Update
As we move further into the school year, we wanted to take a moment to remind everyone of some important school expectations and share an exciting opportunity to support our school community.
School expectations can be harder to follow as we move through the long month of March, but we are constantly reminding and supporting our students to show POWER! Pride, Own your actions, Wise choices, engaged in learning, respect!
Through the month of March we are focusing on respect and what it means! Ask your students what respect means to them!
Additionally, we would love any donations (money or toys) you could share with us to support our POWER store. This is a store students use once a month to exchange their POWER tickets for prizes! Any donations can be sent to your students' teacher or brought to the front office!
We’re so grateful for your continued involvement in making West a great place for our students to grow and succeed!
Peer to Peer
Thank you to all that participated in the Peer to Peer Field Trip to the Unified Basketball Game! It was a huge success. See pictures on SmugMug here.
