Anne Frank - Community of Courage Exhibit coming to HPS

This pop-up exhibit brings to life the story of the young Jewish girl who – in the pages of her world-renowned diary – documented two years of hiding in German-occupied Amsterdam during World War II. By sharing Anne's legacy with visitors, student docent leaders will inspire our community to never be bystanders but instead to stand up together against antisemitism, bigotry, and inequality wherever it may exist today.

The Anne Frank Center conducts a two-day Peer Guide training with students, training them to be docents of traveling exhibits on the life and times of Anne Frank. There are three primary outcomes of the training program:
- A deep dive into the history of Anne and the times in which she lived
- Developing public speaking and presentation skills
- Considering how the lessons of history apply to our lives today and how we can be “upstanders,” or helpers, in our communities
This traveling exhibit was developed by the Anne Frank House, Amsterdam, and distributed throughout the U.S. by the AnneFrank Center at the University of South Carolina. The University of South Carolina is the Official U.S. Partner of the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, and the only partner site in North America.
