Teachers Live Here Grant Awarded to Lydia Williams
Congratulations to Lydia Williams, Speech Pathologist at Holland Heights - the latest recipient of a Teachers Live Here Grant. Lydia has been award $26,500 toward the down payment of a home in or near the Holland School District.
I currently live in Byron Center, a 30-minute drive to Holland.... While I have enjoyed living in Byron Center, I realize that life truly revolves around the area where you live. My evenings and weekends are lived in the Byron Center community, yet my weekdays are devoted to Holland. It’s difficult to be divided with my time and community involvement, and I have long wished for closer proximity. The Teachers Live Here grant would make this dream a reality, allowing me to immerse and invest myself in the community and more fully do life with Holland’s students, staff, and families.
This is the first of ten grants that will be awarded during the 2024-2025 school year (July1-June30). Under the Teachers Live Here program, grantees who purchase homes within the school district will be awarded an additional $2500 to assist with closing costs.
Teachers Live Here was launched 2 years ago with the support of donations from a family in the Holland community and the Holland Educational Foundation.
