Honoring Veterans: Holland High School’s 87th Annual Veterans Day Assembly
As Veterans Day approaches, Holland High School is proud to continue its tradition of honoring the brave individuals who have served in the armed forces. Veterans Day, observed every November 11, is a time to recognize the dedication, loyalty, and sacrifices made by veterans to protect our freedoms and uphold our nation’s values. Taking time to express gratitude can make a lasting impact, not only on veterans but also on our own sense of community and shared history.
One meaningful way to honor veterans is by attending Holland High School’s 87th Annual Veterans Day Assembly. Held on Monday, November 11, at 10:00 a.m. in the Dome, the assembly invites veterans, families, and community members to join us in a special program centered on loyalty and service. The keynote speaker, Robert Heath, a Marine Corps veteran and former high school teacher, will deliver a powerful message about the importance of service, inspiring reflection on how we all can contribute to our communities. Following the program, veterans and their families are invited to a luncheon to connect and share stories.
There are many ways to show appreciation for veterans beyond the assembly. Consider talking with children and family members about service members in your own family, helping younger generations understand the significance of Veterans Day. Simple gestures like writing letters of thanks, attending local veterans’ events, or volunteering with veterans' organizations can be impactful ways to show gratitude and support.
We invite you to join us at Holland High School on November 11 to recognize our veterans and reflect on their contributions to our nation. Let’s come together to show our appreciation and acknowledge the sacrifices made by those who have served.
