Welcome Back!

Back to School Information

Hi HMS Families, 

We are very excited to start the 24/25 school year with your student(s)!  As our 6th year as a middle school, this is going to be the best year yet!  Please join us on Tuesday, August 20th, from 5-7 for our Open House.  You will have the opportunity to get your schedule, get acquainted with the location of your classes, and meet your teachers! Also, we will have community partners and athletics available to answer any questions you may have.  

We look forward to connecting with you soon.  Below are some frequently asked questions about Holland Middle School and a guide for our 6th grade and NEW to HMS families.

Schedules: TODAY! You can get a sneak peak at your student’s schedule by looking at it in Infinite Campus.  Attached is a guide to do so.  If you need Infinite Campus support, we can help you navigate in the front office at Open House or by emailing smaat@hollandpublicschools.org . Please note some schedules will change prior to open house.  We are still placing students in math and reading interventions based on previous MAP benchmark scores and teacher recommendations.  

Changes Needed?  At Open House, we can tackle requests.  Unfortunately, due to scheduling difficulties, we cannot change classes to accommodate teacher or friends in classes requests.  

Start and Dismissal Times:

  • 7:30am-2:42pm
  • Half Day Dismiss 10:35am 
  • Early Release1:42pm
  • Doors open for breakfast at 7:00am.  Students can get breakfast in the cafeteria or sit on the bleacher

Mark your Calendar:  September 10th from 5:30-7 is HMS' first Curriculum Night!  Come learn about how your student's classes, how to support them best, and connect with other HMS families!

School Supplies: 
All 6th- 8th grade students

  • Backpack

  • 1 folder for every class (7 total)

  • Pencils

  • Colored pencils

  • Highlighters

  • Pens (black or blue)

  • Notebook Paper

  • Sticky notes

  • Glue Sticks

  • Headphones that plug into a computer (no wireless headphones please)
