Holland High is excited to welcome students back for the 2024-2025 school year!
In this News Story, you’ll find all the key details about student schedules, school supplies, open house, the first-day schedule, Chromebooks, school pictures, the required quick meal application, and more!
Class Schedules: Students will have access to view their schedules in Infinite Campus on Tuesday, August 13. Fill out this Google Form if you desire a change to your current class schedule. A counselor will review this request and then do one of the following: 1. Make the change and notify you via email; 2. Set up a meeting with you regarding the change; 3. Notify you that the change cannot work in your schedule. Check your email regularly to stay tuned for this communication.
School Supplies: Supplies may vary based on the courses students are taking. Teachers will communicate any course requirements during the first week of school. It’s recommended that students bring the following supplies- backpack, pens & pencils, highlighters, paper, notebooks, and pocket folders for each class. An agenda or planner is very helpful to help students stay organized and manage assignments.
The Power H Shop is here to support families as we head back to school! Offering free household items in a retail setting, we can help ease financial burdens during this busy time. Join us on Thursday, August 15, from 4:30-6pm at Maplewood Elementary for our special Back 2 School event.
Open House: We look forward to welcoming you to Holland High School on Tuesday, August 20, from 4-6pm. This time is designated for students and families to visit the building, walk their schedules and meet their teachers.
First Day of School: Thursday, August 22. Doors open at 7:05am for breakfast in The Commons (FREE for all students). Classes begin at 7:45am. Day 1 schedule is below. Note, CTC (Careerline Tech Center) students & HEC students with DU (Davenport University) classes students should arrive in time for Advisory (10:05am). CTC begins on August 26. DU classes begin on September 3.
- 1st Period: 7:45 - 8:30
- 2nd Period: 8:35 - 9:15
- 3rd Period: 9:20 - 10:00
- Advisory: 10:05 - 11:05
- A Lunch: 11:05 - 11:40
- 4A Period: 11:45 - 12:25
- 4B Period: 11:10 - 11:50
- B Lunch: 11:50 - 12:25
- 5th Period: 12:30 - 1:10
- 6th Period: 1:15 - 1:55
- Advisory/Assembly: 2:00 - 2:55
Chromebooks: Students will receive Chromebooks on August 22 (Day 1) during Advisory. If you did not turn in your Chromebook and/or charger last year, please bring it with you.
School Pictures: Picture Day will take place during the school day on Friday, August 23 (Day 2). Pictures will take place during English classes.
Free Meals for Students: For the 2024-25 school year, HPS is once again participating in the Michigan School Meals Program, ensuring that all students receive breakfast and lunch each school day at no cost. Families still need to complete the application at https://holland.familyportal.cloud/. Please note that milk-only purchases and à la carte items must be paid for at the time of purchase with cash or funds in their account. For any food service-related questions, call 616-494-2245.
