Sports - https://hollandathletics.com/

Women's Basketball: The Holland Girls Basketball team finished the conference portion of their season at the Civic Center against Holland Christian on Friday night. "We continue to improve and compete for each other. We are excited to play our last two regular-season games in the Dome next Tuesday and Thursday. It will be a great way to send out our seniors," said Coach Telgenhof. Maryah Vasquez, Amari Copado, and Miona Rogers each scored six points on the night.

Men's Basketball: Holland High fell to Holland Christian 54-43 on Friday night. Hulst and VanHekken each had 14 points for the Dutch (4-8, 10-12). Holland’s second-year coach Andrew Meeuwsen was happy with how his team played on defense. Holland trailed 22-17 at halftime. I’m very happy with how we defend,” he said. “It was a slow start in the first quarter. They had, what, 22 points at the half? That’s awesome. The goal was to keep them under 50. So, for the most part, we are doing our job on defense. But we’ve got to make some shots.

Wrestling: After a hard-fought day at Regionals, Holland is sending two to Detroit.MHSAA Individual Wrestling State Finals at Ford Field — here we come! Aiden Segovia and Andreas Valkema battled through tough brackets and both placed 4th at Regionals to secure their spots at the State Finals. With their qualification, they are now officially Top 16 in the State at their respective weight classes. Andreas Valkema becomes a 3x State Qualifier, continuing to cement his legacy. Aiden Segovia earns his 2nd trip to the State Finals, proving once again he belongs on the big stage. What an accomplishment for these two competitors and for our program. We also want to recognize Mikkel Adams, who wrapped up his career today. While his season ended, the coaching staff could not be prouder of the senior he has become. His growth, toughness, and commitment over the years — especially this season — have been incredible to watch. That’s what Holland wrestling is about.

Word of the Day

A foray is an initial and often hesitant attempt to do something in a new or different field or area of activity, as in “the novelist’s foray into nonfiction.” In martial contexts, foray means “a sudden or irregular invasion or attack for war or spoils.”

The professional wrestler’s surprise foray into ballet was at first met with skepticism, but he eventually proved himself a dancer of grace and poise.

Student Led Conferences

Holland High School is pleased to announce the dates for our upcoming Student-Led Conferences: February 18 and 24, 2026 from 3:30-6:30pm. These conferences are a regular part of our school's approach to involving students in their educational progress.  Student participation is required.

We’re also excited to offer family engagement stations in the Commons, complete with a free pizza dinner. Families can visit interactive stations focused on communication, goal setting, study skills, budgeting, and more. This will be available both nights, from 4-5:30 pm so you can stop by before or after your conference!   Check out the flyer for more information!
