Men's Swim and Dive: Your Holland Dutch Swim and Dive team traveled to Ottawa Hills High School Thursday night for their first dual meet of the season. The Medley Relay team of Harper Prutch (backstroke), Davian Johnson (breaststroke), Ryland Vanderploeg (butterfly), and Landon Van Ingen (freestyle) won the first event with a time of 1:53.31. Prutch went on to place second in the 200 freestyle and first in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:01.14. Johnson took second in the 200 Individual Medley and won the 100 breaststroke with a 1:11.79. Van Ingen placed second in the 100 butterfly, going a 1:04.39. Freshman Aiden Lambers took third in the 200 freestyle and second in the 500 freestyle. Sophomore Luke Arendshorst placed second in the 100 breaststroke. “There were some great races tonight and we also have much to learn from tonight. It’s time to put in some hard work over Christmas Break!” Exclaimed Coach Book. The Dutch will compete at Hudsonville High School on Friday and Saturday, December 20 and 21 for The West Michigan Relays.
