Summer School: Need to make up credits? Summer school is a great way to get back on track in a supportive, focused setting.

Dates: June 8 – June 30, 2026
Time: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM (Monday–Friday)

Good to know:

  • Bussing available Monday–Thursday (no bussing on Fridays)
  • Breakfast and lunch are provided Monday–Friday
  • Short days, small setting, and a chance to knock out credits without the distractions of a full school day

If you’re unsure whether you should attend, go ahead and sign up to reserve a spot. It’s much easier to remove your name later than to be added to a waitlist once classes fill.

This is your opportunity to move forward, catch up, and start next year with confidence. We’re here to help you succeed!

Please sign up on here

Spring Disc Golf Tournament: There will be a disc golf tournament on Friday, May 29th!  Students can register as a team of 2 (scramble style) or as a free agent to be paired up with another single.  The tournament will start after school on Friday, May 29th at 3:00, with the last groups teeing off by 5:00. Prizes will be awarded to teams finishing in 1st/2nd place, as well as individuals with exceptional shots.  You can register by clicking on the link here, or in person, the day of the tournament, by showing up outside the PAC after school. Beginners are welcome, and discs are free to use! Come out and join us as we enjoy this beautiful weather and celebrate the end of our school year with a little disc golf!  See you then!

Holland Band: Current 9th-11th Grade Students: If you are looking for something fun, new, and different to do this summer and fall, consider joining the HHS Color Guard! Color Guard combines the artistry of spinning and tossing flags with dance and choreography and is an important part of the visual effect that contributes to the success of the HHS Marching Band! There is only one more Color Guard "Experience Nights" remaining: May 26th, from 6-8 p.m. in the HHS Band Room. Learn some new skills, meet some great new people, and check out what being in Color Guard is all about! Join us for either or both nights! These are open to everyone, and no experience is necessary! Hope to see you there!

Graduate with CLEP and Modern States: Modern State Education Alliance(modernstates.org), a nonprofit organization dedicated to making college affordable and attainable, offers FREE online courses in all CLEP subjects.  Taught by college professors, the self-paced courses align to CLEP exams and feature lectures, quizzes, and free textbooks.  Students must earn a passing score in order to receive college credit.  Most colleges in the area will accept these credits (please check with each institution). Summer is the perfect time for all motivated students to take advantage of this opportunity. Remember, HHS is a CLEP testing site.  Please contact Mr. Rumpsa for more information. jrumpsa@hollandpublicschools.org

Women's Soccer: In the first match on Saturday in Leland, Holland defeated St. Francis 1-0. Dee Rumpsa scored the winning goal in the contest. "St. Francis was a very dangerous team," said Holland coach Greg Ceithaml. "We played tough defense, and the one goal stood. I am very happy for our team because their effort was rewarded. Goalie Yazsmin Angulo earned the shutout. In the second game on Saturday afternoon, Holland tied Leland 4-4. Leland struck first, but then Emma Weiss tied it up from an assist from Lesly Garcia, and Holland went into halftime tied 1-1. Lesly Garcia put the Dutch on top with an assist from Tabby Brown, but unfortunately, Holland conceded two goals to go down a goal. Emma Weiss and Lesly Garcia converted from assists by Olivia Bernal and Megan Smith to put the reds up again, but gave up a late goal for the tie. "I was incredibly impressed by the team," said Holland coach Greg Ceithaml. "Their fight in the second game of the afternoon was inspirational. I am very happy with the result."

Word of the Day

To vindicate someone is to show that they are not guilty. Vindicate can also mean “to show that someone or something that has been criticized or doubted is correct, true, or reasonable.”

A series of testimonies helped vindicate the defendant.

Their much-maligned approach to the problem has now been vindicated by these positive results.
