Holland Educational Foundation
What is HEF?
The Holland Public Schools Educational Foundation is a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation, established in 1984 to provide community and business support for the children of Holland Public Schools. Funds raised are distributed through semi-annual grants to the teachers/staff of Holland Public Schools.
What We Do:
Each year, HEF makes it possible for Holland Public School teachers to go beyond conventional budgetary limitations by providing funds for the purchase of supplementary technology and creative and innovative learning materials and experiences. Every HEF grant awarded must contribute directly to student motivation and learning.
Due to generous community support, HEF was able to fund more than $33,000 in new grants during the 2009-2010 school year. Since our founding in 1984, the foundation has awarded over $583,000 in grant support to the teachers & staff of Holland Public Schools.
Fundraising Efforts:
Each year, HEF raises funds through a Bid$ for Kid$ auction event held in early fall and an end-of-the-year letter campaign. In the fall of 2010, our Bid$ for Kid$ event will be held Friday, September 24 at 6:30 pm at the Midtown Center Study Hall in the former Holland High building on 15th Street in Holland. If interested in attending, hosting a table, volunteering or joining our planning committee, please contact Wendy Schregardus at wschrega@hollandpublicschools.org or 494-2053.
Donations:
Donations to HEF are tax deductible. If your company has a matching-funds program, please enclose paperwork and double your support.
You may also make your donation to the Holland/Zeeland Community Foundation, earmarked to the HEF Endowment or Founding Fund.
