September College Visits Calendar: Holland High is welcoming colleges, trade schools, and cosmetology programs this fall! Seniors and families, please review the September calendar to see when representatives will be here. Use the color key to know where to find them. Central Michigan University On-Site Admissions: CMU will host a free On-Site Admissions Event at HHS on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2025. Seniors with a 2.5+ GPA can apply to CMU (at least 2 days before the event), send their transcript, and receive an admission decision on the spot. Don’t miss this opportunity! Sign Up Here

Soccer/Tennis Parking: The student parking lot at the soccer and tennis complex will be closed for students on Friday due to a tennis tournament using our courts.

Students 4 Social Justice: Are you interested in connecting with your local LGBT community? Want to make friends, promote inclusion at HHS, and go on field trips? Join Students 4 Social Justice, a club that meets Fridays, 3-4 pm. Join us this Friday in Mr. Soko's room B2203!

RISE Program: The Hope College RISE program begins Monday, September 29. RISE offers academic support, hands-on STEAM activities, and real-world projects to build skills in reading, math, and science while also growing leadership and college readiness. RISE meets after school Monday–Thursday. Sessions run 3:15–5:15 pm (Mon/Tues/Thurs) and 2:15–4:15 pm (Wed). Hope College provides transportation—buses pick you up after school and return you at 5:30 pm. Each day includes homework time and check-ins, an “inquiry of the day,” activities connected to your classes, and a closing reflection. Sign up TODAY at this registration link

Video Games and eSports: Do you like Video Games?  We are hoping to start up a video gaming club, with the potential of creating an eSports Team.  Please fill out THIS FORM if you are interested in learning more or joining.

Holland Area Area College Night: The annual Holland Area College Night will be held at Hope College on Tuesday, September 16 from 6:00–7:30 p.m. at our DeVos Fieldhouse. Students from all over West Michigan will be there to get to know 50+ colleges, meet the admissions representatives, and learn more about financial aid. Interested students should register for a barcode before the fair at StriveFair.com. During the fair, college reps will scan those barcodes to send them more information about their college. The day after the fair, students will receive a report with information on the colleges they met with.

Men's Tennis: The boys' varsity tennis team traveled to Hamilton on Wednesday evening to play in the second conference match of the season. Floyd Webb (1 singles) had the first win of the day, and Josiah VanFarowe (3 singles) followed with a win. Greyson Mackechnie and Carter Martin took Hamilton to 3 flights and came out with the win. "There were many good things from the team, but still a lot to work on and improve" (Annika Williams), "Hamilton came out ready with good competition and came out on top". Holland plays next in the Holland Area Invite on 9/13/25.

Women's Golf: On Wednesday, the Lady Dutch traveled to Diamond Springs for a quad match with Hamilton, Holland Christian, and Zeeland West. Leading scores for the Dutch were Alex Perales 43, Keoni Gainey 56, Kinsley McGraw 63, Daisy Byrd 65, Rosie DeRoo 66, and Faolan Rohr 68. The Dutch placed second overall with a score of 227 and some outstanding play!  The Lady Dutch traveled to Pigeon Creek Golf Club on Thursday for the Unity Christian Jamboree. The Dutch finished 7th overall with a team score of 248. The Dutch were led by Alex Perales, placing 4th overall with a score of 44!
